Student Self Registration

Faster registration with QR Code Scan

Attendance registration steals the teacher’s valuable instructional time. Now you can save that time by using Attender’s student self-registration solution with QR Codes.

How does Attender's self-registration solution save time?

Check-in Screen

The check-in screen can be placed at the school entrance, an info screen or in each class room.

It can be run in any browser on most devices (iPads, computers, TV’s, etc.) It can also be integrated into other solutions like info screens.

The QR code can be set to change every 10 seconds or at which interval you choose.

Student Check-in

When students arrive to school, they scan the QR Code with their phones and are thereby marked present. The school can set up requirements for the students to check in either once or several times per day.

Student Check-out

Students are automatically checked out at the end of the day. If they choose to leave before the end of the lesson, they merely have to open the Attender app and swipe “Checkout” . There is no need to scan the code again.

Numerical code

Instead of scanning the QR code, students can also input a numerical code shown simultaneously with the QR code. It is up to the individual student which code to choose – both are valid entries.

Teacher's view

The teacher no longer have to do manual registration. They can easily gain an overview of the students on their registration interface and see who has or hasn’t checked in. Corrections can easily be made by the teacher if a student forgot to check in or otherwise.

This is a huge time saver for the teacher. Often up to 5 minutes per lesson.

Attender recommends that your school pairs the self-registration with Attender’s gamification so that students are rewarded for checking in.

Microsoft Teams & Written Absence

When using Microsoft Teams for online learning, Attender in Microsoft Teams can automatically register the meeting participants, thereby saving the teacher valuable time. This is especially valuable with larger classes.

Written Absence refers to a situation where a teacher assigns a task to a student via Microsoft Teams, providing an 8-hour window to complete it. If the assignment is not submitted within this timeframe, Attender will automatically mark the student as absent for the 8 hours allotted for the assignment.

Huge improvement in attendance

A business academy had a problem with low student attendance on average 25% of the students were missing for any given class. After introducing Attender’s student QR code self-registration where their students had to check in twice a day, the average absence went down from 25% to 5%. A huge improvement! This also resulted in decreasing the number of student dropouts by 50%.

Student ID Card or Facial Recognition

If your school has student ID’s that are being used to check-in with, Attender is also compatible with this type of data. However, our experience is that students are much more likely to forget a card than their phone.

Attender can also integrate with facial recognition solutions to automatically mark students present or absent.

Attender has been developed in collaboration with schools

We have spent countless hours and days with schools and teachers to ensure that Attender fulfills their needs. Two things are strikingly apparent – less time should be spent on attendance registration and more time should be devoted to teaching.
